If anyone is missing a pair of prescription glasses that were in a hard case and left on the sideline saturday, please let me know. Also, another player has lost his prescription safety goggles, if you have them please let me know. Parents and coaches, please help us keep the grounds clean after games. There were over 20 water bottles left on the tackle players side after the game, as well as one of the teams medical kits. Thanks for everyones support at the concession stand. You can also help us by purchasing one of our tee-shirts for only $12  It is a great way to show your support.

IMPORTANT: For safety reasons, all fans must stay on the opposite side of the field that the players and coaches are on. Please respect this rule. Non-compliance will lead to the game being stopped untill fans are on the correct side. It is not fair to the fans that follow the rules. Please don't make this an issue. Coaches please help us with this!!!!

Also, please do not yell at coaches or other fans, especially in the flag division. If you are a parent or a coach that is getting that upset at a 3rd and 4th grade game, you need a reality check. This is a developmental league and our goal is not winning but teaching fundementals and making it fun. The drop out rate in youth sports is very high and it has been proven that it is mostly because of a lack of playing time or too much pressure on winning. We don't know who will grow or move away and we really want to keep as many kids playing as possible at this age so we can put a championship team on the high school field some day soon. If you have an issue with a coach or another parent, Please come find me (Bryan) or John Mackenzie or Paul Brusk.

IMPORTANT DATES  

Friday, October 10th Junior All-Star Night at the Varsity Demons Game, all players get to run on the field!!! Wear jerseys, Line up at 6:45 outside stadium by far end, Coaches get in free to this game as well.

End of year banquet is Friday, November 7th at LA CENTRE at 6:30. This is a great family event and everyone is encouraged to come and show their support for the kids and the league. Tickets will be on sale shortly, Adults are $25.00 kids are $15.00 Championship trophies, IronMan trophies along with a highlight video will be presented that night. It is also a fundraiser featuring a chinese raffle and silent auction. Each team is responsible for providing a gift basket as a prize. Since the coaches are busy coaching, this would be a great opportunity for a parent to help out.

Equipment return date is Saturday November 8th at the high school from 11:00 to 1:30. Each tackle team needs to have a coach present. PArents please clean equipment and make sure helmet is free of stickers. LAst year we lost 7 set of equipment. This year we will list on the website the names of the families who do not return the equipment.

Parents, all flag and tackle players get in free to all home Varsity games, please wear jerseys and sign in at front gate. Remind them to behave and enjoy the game.

New for 2008:

Gauranteed playing time based upon how many practices player attended. Expectations will be clearly defined in writing to all players, parents and coaches and will be inforced. This is an instructional league and we need to develop all players, not just the ones that have developed early.

All coaches will submit to a background check. This is now customary in almost all youth leagues and is mandatory for us to get support from city and schools..
