Denville PAL Basketball: Welcome

Welcome to Denville PAL Basketball!   

Denville PAL Basketball is open to all boys and girls in Grades 2-12 who reside or go to school in Denville. Players can join either the Traveling League (where players are selected based on skill level with half the games played in other towns) OR the Recreation League (which is a fun league with games played in Denville schools), but not both.  The Traveling Boys League consists of 4 teams for Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8.  The Traveling Girls League consists of 2 teams combining Grades 5-6 and Grades 7-8.

Coaches, Referees and Sponsors are always needed.

Denville PAL Basketball is seeking Board Members for the ’08-’09 season for both Recreation (all players, all levels welcome) and Travel (selected based on skill level) Divisions. Why not get involved with the most exciting winter sport around? If you are interested in a board position or want to be a Travel Team Coach, please contact Tom Boller at tboller@apimail.net or call Tom at 201-572-4958.

All Director and Officer positions are open. Officer candidates to date are: President – Tom Boller, Vice President – Debbie Lum, Secretary – Jim Lloyd, Treasurer – Claire Pharoah, Training Director – Debbie Lum. Marty Sergi will take the office of Past President Advisor. Director candidates for Recreation to date are: 2^nd Grade Clinics – Bob Pharoah, 3^rd/4^th – Howard Alexander (girls), Fritz Mott (boys), 5^th/6^th – Bill Rayburn(girls), Peter Mills (boys), 7^th/8^th – Jim Lloyd (girls).Travel Director candidates are: Gene Francisco, Tom Boller, Chris Greene, Nick Rella. High School Girls Recreation Director Candidates are: Howard Alexander & Debbie Lum. High School Boys Division Director Candidate: Steve Tomkins.

Everyone is welcome to attend the next Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 27^th at 7:30 pm in the Gardner Field House.

Referee Clinics for Denville PAL Basketball
Are you interested in making extra money refereeing a sport you love? Denville PAL Basketball will be holding referee clinics in September and October to help get you ready for another exciting season. Clinics are open to boys and girls ages 13+ or adults. Pay is commensurate with experience and performance ($7-$15 per game.) Attendance at a clinic does not guarantee employment but is required for anyone interested in becoming a referee. .
