Georgia Fire is a Women's ASA 23U Softball Team with a roster of current or recently graduated college players. In 2008 the Fire 23U will play in the ASA 23U National Championship tournament in Auburn, AL on July 17-20 in addition to the 4th Annual Fire Challenge, July 25-27, in Dahlonega, GA plus one or two more Regional tournaments.

Playing Elsewhere This Summer

Brittany Barnes, Senior/3B, Georgia Tech, Snellville, GA has been a member of the GA Fire 23U since the team was formed 4 years ago. Brittany became the 1st GA Fire player to be drafted by the National Pro Fastpitch (NFP). The GA Tech slugger will play for the Akron Racers this summer. We will miss her but we are very proud of Brittany. GA Fire 23U wish her the best of luck.

Melissa Wood, Senior/C, University of Georgia has also been a member of the Fire 23U since its beginning. Upon completion of UGA's season "Moe" will head to Austria to join the Dornbirn Sharx of the Austrian Softball League. GA Fire 23U wishes her the best of luck.
